Nintendo tossed their hat in the TV app game today with the announcement of Nintendo TVii at their press blitz in New York.

The app will run as a "second screen experience" on the Gamepad controller. The app will be personalized and linked to your Nintendo Mii. The app will then make recommendations according to past usage and preferences. Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, and Wikipedia were all shown running on the Gamepad.

Ideally the app will centralize all of your media into one place. You will also be given the option to link all of your social media accounts to the app as well. Nintendo also made a point to mention that were features for sports fans as well. We will find out what that means shortly. Nintendo TVii will come bundled with both versions of the Wii-U and will be free of charge to use.

What do you think? Let us know what you think of the app on Twitter.
