Because Abraham Lincoln was a vampire hunter, Thomas Edison was a secret crime fighter, so thank god someone's making a television show about it. According to Deadline, a series following the inventor of the light bulb himself as an undercover consultant for the "to the under-trained and under-equipped" 1880's NYPD is in the works at NBC, tentatively titled Edison. This version of the historical fixture will be younger, probably attractive, and good at using his "inventor instincts and retro-cool devices to deconstruct crime scenes and pioneer new technology."

There's probably some catchphrase to be taken from this, like, "he'll be shining a light on crime" or something, but we'll spare you.
