With the main stars already locked up for the return of Arrested Development, it seems like almost all of the show’s original supporting characters have agreed to come back to the series as well. The latest actress to confirm her return is Mae Whitman, who played Ann Veal during the show’s original run.

In an interview with Hollywood.com, Whitman said, “I've always been like 'Oh I don't want to give anything away,' but I definitely, definitely wouldn't ever let this chance go by without being a part of it." She continued, “I told Mitch [Hurwitz] that I would stand outside the sound stage until he would let me just walk through the background or something."

As the plain, awkward girlfriend of George Michael, Ann became a favorite on the show not because of her outgoing personality, but because of the abuse she took from the other characters on the series. Hopefully she’ll still be the butt of the joke when Arrested Development returns to Netflix next year.
