According to The Hollywood Reporter, Guillermo del Toro and Lost executive producer, Carlton Cuse, are nearing a deal with FX to produce a pilot based on del Toro's book trilogy The Strain. The original novel series was written by del Toro and Chuck Hogan, and it revolved around a vampire virus that had infested New York City. Del Toro and Hogan will also co-write the pilot, while Cuse will be in charge of development if it turns into a series.

Del Toro is a man with countless projects on his plate at once as he is currently in production on Pacific Rim while developing numerous TV shows and movies on the side. But it seems like The Strain is actually going to see the light of day eventually.
