Gotta Catch the Pokemon Autumn Regionals Oct. 14

Compete for your chance to make the World Championships.

None

The Pokemon Company International is kicking things off early this year, and instead of holding one regional championship for North America, they're holding several. The first is going down on Oct. 14 in five cities, and it's the first chance to compete for a spot in the 2013 Pokemon World Championships in Vancouver next year.

The Autumn Regionals will take place in Philadelphia, Santa Clara, Calif., Houston, Toronto, Canada, and Fort Wayne, Ind. Winners get travel comped to the national championships in the U.S. or Canada, where they'll compete for a spot in World.

In related news, the Pokemon Company International also announced that three-time world champ Ray Rizzo will be one of the real-life players to be immortalized in Pokemon Black and White Version 2's Pokemon World Tournament event. We're expecting more info on that in October.

Head to Pokemon.com/play to learn how to get in on the action. And if you're a Pokemon enthusiast, don't feel like you're too old to compete. There are enough age divisions to cover any fans.
