Apple Maps, the replacement for Google Maps in iOS 6, has received a lot of backlash from users. And while we figured out a way for you to kind of get Google Maps back on your iPhone, there may be hope for those of you who want that old thing back. A new rumor says that Google Maps may officially make its way back to your iPhone.

According 9 to 5 Mac, a Google Maps app for iOS 6 is complete and ready to go. The only problem is Apple has yet to approve it. This wouldn't be the first time Apple allegedly dragged its feet when approving a Google iOS app. Past reports said that the Google Voice app sat on the shelf for over a year pending Apple's approval.

Does that mean we won't see a Google Maps app until fall 2013? Not according to TechCrunch. The website says that Google plans to have an iOS Maps app available before Christmas.
