One of the few "Hey, would you look at that" announcements from today's Apple event was EarPods— the awkwardly-named, but pretty interesting-looking new earbud headphones that will ship with all of Apple's new mobile devices. The headphones, as Jonny Ive might say, have been completely re-imagined, with a new form factor designed to fit more snugly in more peoples' ears. They also feature new, more narrow speaker positioning in order to direct sound directly into the ear canal.
EarPods are still only available in classic white and ship with the iPhone 5, the iPod Touch and the iPod Nano. But you can get your hands on a stand-alone pair, even before any of those devices come out, for $29 from the Apple store.
