According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cynthia Nixon has been cast as Emily Dickinson in the upcoming biopic, A Quiet Passion. Written and directed by Terence Davies, this film will explore the reclusive and tortured life of the poet who only achieved real notoriety after her death. She has since been recognized as one of the great American poets.

"When I read what Terence had written, I was consumed by the character he had so beautifully put on the page," Nixon told the site. "Emily Dickinson’s words and Terence’s somehow dovetail to create a heady elixir. When I put the script down, I knew it was a story that I simply have to be part of."

There is no release date scheduled for the film as of yet.
