After Louie became a hit with fans and critics over on FX, it only makes sense that competing networks would try to replicate the success of that show with other comedians. And now Deadline is reporting that CBS has just struck a deal with Jim Gaffigan to produce a pilot for a single-camera comedy show based on his life. The show will focus on a guy who lives with his wife and five kids in a small NYC apartment, and it will be written by Gaffigan and his partner, Peter Tolan.

Gaffigan has dabbled in acting before, but this will be the first time that he will star in something so close to his real life. It will be interesting to see how the network handles a single-camera comedy, as opposed to the traditional sitcoms that it usually pumps out.
