24-year-old Craig Evans of Birmingham was sentenced to 18 months behind bars and will be labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life after mistakenly sexting all of the contacts in his BlackBerry. After typing a request for sex from his girlfriend, a tragic mistake resulted in the message being sent to everyone he knows, including two teenage girls (ages 13 and 14).

Evans was convicted by the Birmingham Crown Court for "causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity." His lawyer fought long and hard to convince the Court of Appeals that Evans was not targeting the girls, and although a member of the Court seemed to acknowledge that this was all a mistake, they refused to remove the incident from his record and gave him a nine-month suspended sentence in addition to the damning sex offender brand.

Yes, what Evans did was horribly embarrassing, but fat-fingering a text shouldn't earn you a spot on the sex offenders list.
