Dmitry Glukhovsky's novel Metro 2033 inspired one of the most unique first person shooter of this generation, and now it's going to inspire a feature film, as well.

MGM has reportedly acquired the rights to the film, and they're getting F. Scott Frazier to write the script and The Chronicles of Narnia producer Mark Johnson to produce.

Metro 2033 is about the remaining vestiges of humanity surviving after a nuclear apocalypse in the subway tunnels under Moscow. New, mutated races rule the earth, but there are still mysteries left to uncover, as anyone who's played the game can attest.

THQ's also got a sequel, Metro: Last Light, in the works, and they even released a short film earlier this year. We're always looking forward to hearing more about Last Light. Maybe now's the time?
