Britain's National Pig Association claims that a global shortage of pork is now "unavoidable." The absence of rain in Russia in North America has severely damaged crops like soybean and corn, which pig farmers need to feed to their livestock. The European Union's pig herd is reportedly "declining at a significant rate," and the NPA estimates that by the second half of 2013, pig slaughter could decrease by up to 10 percent.

That means pork prices in Europe could double. American warehouses saw record-highs for pork supplies last month, because farmers are trying to save money on pig food. Do you realize how serious this is? We're talking the future of bacon cheeseburgers here!
