If you are a frequent user of Tumblr, we've got some bad news for you. Today, the site announced that everyone's blogs will be down on October 6th for "a few hours" as they attempt to "further improve performance" for their 150 million users.
Blake Matheny, VP Engineering at Tumblr discussed the details:
"We are now ready to complete the last major step in upgrading our infrastructure. Unfortunately, it has one very uncomfortable side-effect: all traffic to blogs and the Dashboard will be suspended during the operation — returning a simple “we’ll be right back” message.
Now what are Tumblr users supposed to do with their time?! Go back to Facebook? C'mon man!
