First appearance: Hulk #1 (2008)

When the Red Hulk first debuted at Marvel in 2008, he was seen as nothing more than a silly gimmick designed to create a temporary stir amongst comic book fans. It’s four years later and the character still hasn’t shed that image of being a product of committee thinking. Despite Jeff Parker's solid run on Red Hulk's solo book, this character hasn't yet captured the imagination of most comic fans.

It seems like the Red Hulk—or “Rulk,” as he’s often called—is gaining momentum among the company’s higher-ups as a truly marketable character. Unfortunately, we have a bad feeling that a sequel to 2008’s The Incredible Hulk will feature Rulk in all of his pointless glory. Worse yet, he could even spin-off into his own film.
