First appearance: The Flash #112 (1960)

Not only does Elongated Man own the distinction of having one of the worst superhero names ever, but in terms of powers, he’s almost a carbon copy of Plastic Man, who DC actually bought the rights to a few years earlier.

With the ability to stretch and shape his body almost limitlessly, the Elongated Man’s powers would definitely be a visual thrill to see in a movie. Yet once he shrinks down to human proportions, his personality is about as dynamic as Hayden Christensen. Unfortunately for the Elongated Man, he’s bookended by two far superior characters with similar powers: Plastic Man and Mister Fantastic. Both of which, sadly, make for better movie candidates.
