After seeing how much money The Avengers brought in for Marvel earlier in the year, Warner Brothers is desperately looking to put Justice League onto the screen as soon as possible. And now Variety is reporting that the studio is looking at Ben Affleck (The Town) to potentially direct it. Apparently the studio recently sent Affleck a copy of Will Beall's (Gangster Squad) script for the movie in order to gauge his interest on the project, though nothing has been finalized yet. The article also notes that he might play an acting role in the movie as well, but that's not confirmed.

Affleck has made himself into one of Hollywood’s hottest directors in recent years with hits like The Town and Gone Baby Gone. If he takes the job, he would be uniting A-list heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern for one gigantic blockbuster that should be the studio's biggest film in years.

This is one Hollywood rumor that we desperately want to be true because Affleck has proven himself to be one of the more interesting directors out there right now. If you're still on the fence about him, you can see his work in the upcoming political thriller Argo when it gets released on October 12.
