Wanna know what it's like to land on the surface of Mars? That's exactly the perspective you get in this new video from the Mars Curiosity Rover, which captures the vehicile's descent and landing on the red planet. The whole thing is amazing, but our favorite part is at the end when you can actually see dust kicking up as the rover's jets make contact with the Martian surface.

The video was made by stringing together high-resolution stills from one of Curiosity's on-board cameras, which shot at four frames-per-second during the landing. While that's far from movie quality, the footage is still nothing short of spectacular.
