If pop culture is to be believed, counting cards is a skill only mathematical geniuses and autistic savants possess. Mike Aponte, a former member of the MIT BlackJack Team (the team whose exploits inspired the book Bringing Down The House, and the movie 21), says that's not at all true: anyone can count cards. All you need to do is follow a set of guidelines which Aponte explains in the above video. 

It's not simple, but it's not rocket science. Aponte says all you need to do is practice. Good luck.
