Miranda rights should be revised to read "What you tweet can and will be held against you in the court of law". This racist rant against soccer player Carlton Cole is not the first time we've seen 140 characters land a person in the slammer. With examples being made out of individuals for harsh tweets maybe Twitter can become a friendly, racist free micro-blogging site. I am allowed to dream, no?

An unnamed U.K. man sent out two racist tweets about Carlton Cole, a soccer player for West Ham United. Even though he deleted the tweets the authorities sought out the man and arrested him on a public order defense. Cole publicly responded to the offensive tweeter who is currently out on bail.

Do you think online racial offenders should be punished?
