Trailer Park: Arnold Schwarzenegger Returns In “The Last Stand”

The old man still has it.

With his cameo days seemingly behind him, Arnold Schwarzenegger is finally primed to return as the lone star of the upcoming action film, The Last Stand. Directed by Kim Jee-Woon, the movie centers on an out-of-control drug convoy armed with some serious weaponry that his heading for the Mexican border. But the last stop between this convoy and freedom is the small town of Sommerton Junction, which is protected by the broad shoulders of Sheriff Owens (Schwarzenegger).

In this short trailer we get to see Arnold back to his usual hijinks as he spends most of this footage wrestling with criminals, firing inexplicably large guns, and spouting some pretty decent one-liners. It’s not brilliant, but it should bring you back to the days when Schwarzenegger and his fellow gym rats ruled the box office. There is no getting around the fact that Father Time is starting to catch up to Arnold, so we have to enjoy these types of over-the-top action movies while he can still perform in them.

The Last Stand also stars Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzman, Johnny Knoxville, Jaimie Alexander, and Peter Stomare. It will hit theaters on January 18.
