Earlier today we reported that director Tony Scott had taken his own life at the age of 68 by jumping off of a bridge in California. Well now ABC is shedding a little light on this story by revealing that Scott was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer prior to his suicide. It’s not known at this time just how recently the diagnosis was made, but it would help to explain the tragedy to a certain degree.
Scott was perhaps best known for directing blockbusters like Top Gun, Man on Fire, True Romance, and Crimson Tide. He is survived by his wife, Donna, and their twin sons. We’ll bring you more information on this story as it becomes available.
