'This Is Now' Uses Instagram To Depict World Class Cities In Real Time

A first-hand perspective.

None

The promise of Instagram is a snapshot of what's going on in the lives of your friends and loved ones at any given moment. But what if you could get a look at what's going on in the life of an entire city in a given moment?

That's the mission of This Is Now, a new website launched by Australian creative development team Lexical Gap. The sight offers dedicated photo streams for New York, Sao Paulo, London, Tokyo and Sydney. Click on a city and an unfiltered array of instagrams tagged in that location fill your screen. As more photos are pulled in real time, the array scrolls to the left.

This Is Now just launched and has been slammed with traffic, so your mileage may vary as far as getting everything to load. But keep checking back, it's a fascinating view.
