There's over $200K at Stake in Major League Gaming's Summer Championship Next Weekend

MLG brings the heat to Raleigh, NC.

There's a lot of money at stake at the MLG Summer Championship next weekend. Players will compete for over $215,000 in prizes across Starcraft 2, Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur V, and League of Legends (plus two exhibition tourneys featuring Virtua Fighter 5 and Skullgirls), with thousands cheering them on at the Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina and millions more expected to watch online.

Attendees and viewers are going to get a little taste of what it's like to live in Korea, where Starcraft is literally the national sport, as two of the four stages will be dedicated to Blizzard's strategy game Starcraft 2. In addition to the MLG competition, they're hosting Blizzard's Starcraft 2 world championship series, with over $60,000 in prizes.

The broadcast will start next Friday, August 24 at 5pm EST on majorleaguegaming.com, where the entire weekend will be livestreamed free. There's also an HD upgrade available that comes commercial-free and grants near-instant access to on-demand videos.
