If you watched either the series finale of The Closer or the premiere of its spin-off, Major Crimes, last night, turns out, so did everyone else: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two-hour series finale of the long-running Kyra Sedgwick starring crime drama, The Closer, drew in an audience of 9.1 million viewers, a season high for the show - previous episodes this summer have consistently earned higher ratings than other cable shows as well.

As for Major Crimes, the new series that follows Mary McDonnell's character from The Closer, that premiere drew in an impressive 7.2 million viewers, making it the most-watched cable premiere of the year. Not a bad start at all.
