Take a Contract in "Hitman: Absolution"'s New Online Mode

"Contracts" allows you to create and share custom challenges.

Apparently level creation really is the next big thing. Square Enix today announced a new mode for Hitman: Absolution that will allow players to design custom challenges, or "Contracts," for their friends.

You determine the level, targets and available weapons, and set rules for time, style and witnesses. Once your Contract is good to go your friends can play it whether or not you're online.

Completing Contracts gets you special currency to spend on more weapons, disguises and other elements to use in more contracts. It's kind of self-perpetuating. Clever!

“Contracts mode finally delivers a way for Hitman players to fully realize both their creativity and competitive nature," game director Christian Elverdam said in a press release. "Whether they’re fighting to shave off a split second from their time or combining elements and timing events to create unprecedented accidental deaths, gamers can now challenge and inspire each another with an endless variety of user-generated contracts.”

Hitman: Absolution doesn't come out until Nov. 20, but we're already dreaming up all the creative ways we're going to make other players kill people. Have you thought of any? Tell us about them in the comments or on Twitter.
