Samuel Dye, 20, beat his grandmother with a hammer and tried to rape her because he couldn't get a girlfriend. After bemoaning the fact that he was unable to find a girl, he told his 61-year-old grandmother that he was going to "get some." Dye's father stopped the attack after he heard the screams of horror from his mother.
Dye's father caught his son with his pants down, on top of the woman while hitting her in the head with a hammer. He pulled his son away and detained him until the police arrived. Dye has been charged with attempted murder and attempted sexual contact.
Dye has no prior criminal record, but it may be time for a psychiatric evaluation.
