Rumor: AMC Has Had Discussions About A "Walking Dead" Film

We knew this was inevitable.

None

As we patiently wait for the next blood-soaked season of The Walking Dead to debut on AMC this fall, Bloody Disgusting has posted an article claiming that the folks at the network have had some internal discussions about a possible feature film debut for the franchise. The site is reporting that these talks aren’t official as of yet, but there have been casual rumblings that the series could head to the big screen in a few years.

Obviously there isn’t much to go on here, but it does raise an interesting possibility about the show’s future. Perhaps instead of a proper series finale on AMC, the network could bring one last Walking Dead storyline to theaters in order to provide even more gore on a bigger budget. Plus, we’re sure those fat box office receipts wouldn’t be too bad either. On a side note, The Walking Dead was pitched as a movie adaptation first before it was ever considered as a TV drama.

What are your thoughts on this rumor? Should The Walking Dead make at least one foray onto the silver screen, or should it stay where it is on AMC?
