A Steubenville, OH, couple has been charged for forcing their children into plastic boxes and then sealing them with duct tape as punishment. According to prosecutors, the couple forced the children—ages 5, 7, and 8—inside of the containers, but were at least courteous enough to cut a hole in the top for air.
The parents were indicted this week on charges of endangering children and unlawful restraint. Two other people were charged for knowing about the abuse, and choosing to do nothing about it. The children are safe and have been staying with family members since the abuse was uncovered in June.
