Microsoft and 343 Industries announced last spring that Neil Davidge was taking over for long-time Halo composer Marty O'Donnell for the Halo 4 soundtrack, and we even got to have a chat with Davidge (of Massive Attack fame) about his involvement and his love of Halo.
Today, Microsoft and 343 have announced that the soundtrack will be hitting stores on Oct. 22—along with a 14-track remix album from a wealth of impressive artists.
The remix album boasts electronic producers DJ Skee, Caspa, Sander Van Doorn & Julian Jordan, Gui Boratto, KOAN Sound, Matt Lange, Andrew Bayer, Norin & Rad, Alvin Risk, Bobby Tank, Maor Levi and Hundred Waters, as well as rock musicians Apocalyptica and former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha.
Buying the Halo 4 soundtrack in physical or digital form also gets you six bonus tracks, including three additionals from Davidge and three more remixes.
And for those who want to spring for the $75 Halo 4 special edition 2-disc box set, both the original and remix soundtrack albums are included, plus a 70-minute "Making of Halo 4 Music" behind-the-scenes video.
