The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection compiles some classic MGS games on a variety of platforms and gave them a gorgeous HD makeover. But a new option will be available this month for those who didn't want to throw down for all the games the collection contains.

Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be released in their HD forms as standalone downloadable titles later this month.

On August 21, MGS 2 and 3 HD hit PS Vita and PS3 (by way of PlayStation Network), and a bundle with both drops on Xbox Live's storefront.

Then, on August 28, Peace Walker hits PS3 and 360, and the full bundle (with all three) hits PS3.

No word on pricing yet, but it could vary by title and platform. Have you been waiting for an excuse to play/replay one of these Metal Gear Solid titles? Or did number four leave you satisfied enough? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter.
