According to Coming Soon, Maria Howell (The Color Purple, The Vampire Diaries) has been cast as Seeder in director Francis Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. In the original book, Seeder is portrayed as a former victor of The Hunger Games from District 11 who then competes in the 75th Annual Hunger Games.
Howell will join a cast that already includes Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Jena Malone, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and many others. Filming on the movie will take place this fall.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be released on November 22, 2013.
