Some say stealing is a disease, but what does one do when a stolen item leads to you contracting a deadly disease? A man stole a $23 dollar cell phone from an Ebola patient in a Ugandan isolation ward two weeks ago, and now he's showing symptoms of the disease. The victim passed away due to the deadly hemorrhaging fever commonly associated with the Ebola virus, but reported the phone stolen before dying.
Police were able to track the thief after he began using the phone to make phone calls. Soon after, he began showing symptoms and checked himself into Kagadi Hospital—the same damn hospital where the crime was committed. Authorities say he's confessed, and is currently receiving treatment.
Talk about deadly karma.
