Have you ever found yourself watching the 2000 Leonardo DiCaprio film The Beach and thinking "gee, this would make a great television show on Fox despite the fact that the book it was based off of was fairly forgettable and this movie came out 12 years ago"? Well, good news! According to Deadline, Fox is set to develop a TV show based on the movie and book, which followed a group of people who decide to start slummin' it on a remote beach in Thailand rather than join the workforce and have the life slowly drained out of them by corporate America.

The script is set to be written by Andrew Miller, who previously co-ran the now-cancelled CW series The Secret Circle. "It’s about a group of young people feeling disconnected and disenchanted from society who try to start over in paradise," Miller explained in reference to the upcoming series, "but discover that while creating the perfect world is hard, protecting it is even harder." Think any of those "young people" ever read Lord of the Flies?
