Video: First Clip From "The Master" Released

Watch it in all of its enigmatic beauty.

With just under a month to go until director Paul Thomas Anderson’s highly-anticipated drama, The Master, hits theaters, we’re seeing an onslaught of marketing material for the movie hit the web. And now, The Playlist has posted the first clip from the movie online, which unfolds more like a mini trailer than anything.

The clip only exists to advertise the fact that the movie will screen tonight at The Music Box Theater in Chicago for one night only, but, of course, we all benefit from the new footage. In it, we see more of Joaquin Phoenix, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and, thankfully, Amy Adams, who shows a bit more of her character here. And with the help of some fantastic music by Jonny Greenwood, this clip makes us want to see this movie more than ever.

The Master will open worldwide on September 21.
