This fall, Warner Brothers will be putting out the first part of a direct-to-video animated adaptation of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Based on Frank Miller’s legendary comic, the movie will focus on an aging Bruce Wayne donning the Batman costume one last time in order to clean up the crime and corruption that has overtaken Gotham City.
Now we have the first clip to show you from the movie as Batman makes his presence known after years of absence. A similar scene was featured in The Dark Knight Rises this summer, but this is a word-for-word recreation of the source material itself. If the movie sticks this close to the original comic, then Batman fans might be in for something special this September.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 will hit Blu-ray, DVD and digital platforms on September 25.
