Cable network FX has just bought a one-hour pilot from Dr. Dre and writer Sidney Quashi. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series - which was created by Quashi - is a drama set in modern-day Los Angeles that "explores both the music business and the crime business."
Dre will serve as an executive producer alongside Quashi, and the deal will involve Dre's Crucial Films company - Daniel Schnider and Brad Bertner will co-executive produce for Crucial TV.
