At this point we wouldn’t mind if we never heard the title Ghostbusters 3 ever again, but news keeps trickling out from this ill-fated sequel whether we like it or not. And in a recent interview with Metro, Dan Aykroyd confirmed that Bill Murray will definitely not be showing up in the third installment in the franchise. However, he's adamant that this won't stop the movie from heading into production.

”No, I can tell you he won't be involved,” Aykroyd told the site. He continued, “It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on. It's time to make the third one.”

Murray has been pretty opposed to the project since it was first brought up, but some fans still held out hope that he would eventually come around and return to the series. However, now that one of the original Ghostbusters won’t be coming back for thirds, do you want to see the franchise continue at all? Let us know in the comment section below.
