Charlize Theron is in talks to produce and possibly star in a new film about slain war reporter Marie Colvin, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She would be teaming up with producer Basil Iwanyk for the film, the idea of which is based on the Vanity Fair article "Marie Colvin's Private War," recently optioned by Iwanyk and Peter Jackson.

Colvin, who was considered one of the most important war correspondents in her field, was murdered this past February while covering a civil war in Syria. She was 56.

No word yet on if Theron will star in the film - which is untitled as of now - but it looks like her being on board as producer is a done deal.
