This story pretty will not help dissaude folks that McCarren Park Pool has become a toilet. The pool was closed around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday after a menacing "brown cloud" reared its ugly head. The pool typically closes for 5 minutes to clean up poop and 25 minutes to clean up vomit, but this nasty case of diarrhea shut the place down for over 24 hours.
The pool was "packed to capacity" when the mess was noticed by swimmers and pool officials, sending everyone into a repulsed panic. Workers were forced to disinfect the pool by raising the chlorine levels for 24 hours. This is just another incident on the list of problems that have occurred at McCarren Park Pool since it reopened as a pool.
Sounds like it was better off as a concert venue.
