Everyone on the shore of the Susquehanna River was shocked when the "floating corpse" suddenly woke up last Thursday. Sue Hubbard was on the bike path along the river near Williamsport, PA when she saw what she believed to be a dead body floating in the river. She called the police, who arrived to find a man floating face up, wearing a life jacket. Alarmed, they called a forensic squad in to investigate a drowning.

Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. was also called, and he described the man as "bobbing up and down in the water" as if he was dead. Suddenly, the man—Joseph DeAngelo—scared everyone when he sat up. According to DeAngelo, he was just enjoying the tranquility of the river, completely unaware that he had horrified frightened everyone on shore.

There are far more conventional ways to do that, and most of them are on shore.
