The paparazzi are widely known as the gum on the bottom of a celebrity's Italian shoe. They're annoying and difficult to get rid of. But apparently, not all famous people share that hatred for those stalkers with cameras. Exhibit A: Alanis Morisette.

“I actually like the paparazzi,” said Morisette during a listen session in Los Angeles for her new album Havoc and Bright Lights, “They’re forcing transparency . . . What are we afraid of? Our relationships being dysfunctional?”

The singer then goes on to admit that she likes "all the trappings of fame" and that she's "as shallow as you can be."

Basically, this was an open invitation to give her press coverage. Well played.
