According to Variety, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has joined the cast of Marvel's Thor: The Dark World in a dual villain role where he will be playing both Algrim the Strong and Kurse. Algrim first appeared in Thor #347 where he was commanded by the evil Malekith (played by Christopher Eccleston) to kill the God of Thunder. He later experiences amnesia after their battle and takes on the identity of Kurse, thanks to the help of the Beyonder.
Thor: The Dark World definitely seems to be taking most of its inspiration from Walt Simonson's run on the character, which most comic book fans will tell you is the best version of Thor ever put onto the page. Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be joining a cast that already includes Chris Hemsworth, Kat Dennings, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, and many others.
Thor: The Dark World will hit theaters on November 8, 2013.
