First you got to follow the Curiosity Mars rover landing from the comfort of your Xbox 360, and now you'll get to do the same for the 2012 presidential race.

On August 27, Microsoft is introducing the Election 2012 hub, complete with NBC news snippets, live debate and convention coverage, polls, info about the candidates, and more. Live events like the debates will allow users to engage in real-time polls, and you'll even be able to register to vote using your console.

So in between sessions of terrorist-blasting and Tony Hawk HD, you'll get to watch the race for the presidency unfold right on your Xbox 360's dashboard.

Will you be putting your Netflix subscription on hold for a few months while election coverage takes up all your Xbox 360's non-gaming time? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter.
