A 17-foot, 7-inch Burmese python was found in the Florida Everglades last week. The serpent, which was euthanized, is said to be the biggest ever caught in the state of Florida, weighing over 164 pounds and pregnant with 87 eggs.
There are reportedly tens of thousands of Burmese pythons in Florida, and they're a huge problem for other local wildlife populations. What's stopping a 17-foot snake? It's pretty much open season on anything in its way.
