Microsoft has posted a record revenue for the quarter ending June 30, with $18.06 billion earned. That doesn't mean they emerged in the black, of course; the tech giant reported a net loss of $492 million for the quarter, compared to a $5.87 billion profit in the same quarter last year, which saw $17.37 billion revenue.
The Entertainment and Devices division grew 20 percent, regardless of overall losses, which might have something to do with the company's Skype acquisition. Skype cost them $18.5 billion last year, but will surely see them reaping even more profits down the road.
And the Xbox 360 isn't hurting either—it's currently the top-selling game console for the 18th month in a row.
Does it surprise you that the Xbox 360 is the top console? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter.
