Comi-Con was rocked by tragedy yesterday after a 53-year-old Twilight fan was killed in front of the San Diego Convention Center. The unidentified woman, who had been camping out in front of the building since Sunday, was struck by a car while trying run through a crosswalk against a light.

The driver of the vehicle did not see the woman in time to stop, and though she tried to stop her own momentum, she ended up tripping into the car. Other fans explained that she had set up the camp site to get tickets to the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2 panel, and was rushing back to the convention center because the staff was about to switch the line.

The 67-year-old driver cooperated with police and will not be cited.
