If you're fan of the TNT series Falling Skies, good news! According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has opted to renew the sci-fi drama for a 10-episode third season set to air in 2013. This decision comes after the series pulled in high ratings in its timeslot this past year, to the tune of about 4 million viewers per episode - big numbers for a cable network.

"Falling Skies is television storytelling at its very best, a powerful drama that's told on both an epic scale and on a deeply personal level," the president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies, Michael Wright, said of the series. "With all the memorable and surprising moments taking place during the second season of Falling Skies, we can't wait to see what DreamWorks Television and Falling Skies' terrific production team and cast members have in store for season three."

Falling Skies is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, and DreamWorks Television.
