The nightmare began on Memorial Day Weekend, when Rudy Eugene—also known as the “Miami Cannibal”—chewed off Ronald Poppo’s face in Miami. It was originally believed that he was under the influence of the hallucinogenic drug known as “bath salts,” but no, it turns out the only drug in his system was marijuana. Though that wasn’t the first bath salts-related incident to rock America, it was the moment that thrust the dangerous synthetic substance into the spotlight. Since then, ridiculous cases have been popping up at an alarming rate.

We took the time to compile the Faces of Bath Salts, a look at the individuals behind some of the most absurd disasters. Hopefully people will learn to leave the drug alone.
