Films don't get much stranger than Delicatessen, a multi-genre hybrid that fires off laughs, horrific imagery, and dystopian concepts without ever stopping for any proverbial breath. Set within an apartment building occupied by a cast of super-eccentrics, Delicatessen is, essentially, a movie about cannibals, which aren't exactly the greatest narrative fodder for laugh-out-loud humor; thanks to directors Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, though, the film mirrors the best of horror-comedies, those that treat visual disturbances and uncomfortable laughs with the same amount of skill.
