A serial hugger, known on the streets of St. Louis as "Jack the Gripper," has finally been apprehended. The 44-year-old man has been accused of pretending to know women, then tricking them into hugging him for uncomfortable amounts of time. Prosecutors are now trying to figure out if the accusations, made by 36 women, warrant a criminal offense.

Authorities say the man would approach women and say, "Hi, remember me? I lived down the street in the corner house. How ya been?" Women would hesitate, but he was one hell of an actor, so they'd hug him out of guilt. Police eventually caught him after one victim wrote down his license plate and police looked at surveillance footage from a supermarket where an alleged hugging had occurred.

This man obviously wasn't hugged enough as a child.
